Grade & salary: Band 3 £22,209 per annum (Increasing to £22,389 from September 2023 following a transitional pay award period)
Based at: Supplies & Uniform Section, Stonehills, Shields Road, Pelaw, Gateshead, NE10 0HW

Role:
An opportunity has arisen within the Supplies Section for a clothing assistant/seamstress for a fixed term contract of 6 months. Applicants should be experienced in using industrial sewing and embroidery machines, ideally within a clothing environment
The successful applicant will provide a measuring, alteration and embroidery service for all staff and be responsible for kitting out all Officers. They will also be required to assist with general warehousing duties within the Supplies function.
The successful applicant will provide advice and support to customers, clients and management on uniform and clothing issues and should be comfortable dealing with customers over the telephone and face to face in providing a responsive tailoring service.
Applicants will also be able to demonstrate their ability to be flexible and adaptable in their approach to the demands of working in a challenging environment.
